When 007 returns to civilian life in Las Vegas, Devin eases everyone's pain through the NUCCA chiropractic method.

  • d7c20fc14616dca872ec7d5ad11d71584b541f45 Danny Maccanello controls nature.  Danny can command the sun to shine and the rain to fall.  We have never witnessed anything like our first "Ultimate Ringer" Cancer Research Fundraiser in Las Vegas.  With rain about to cancel the event for hundreds of guests, Danny assessed the situation, looked to the heavens and the clouds parted one hour before the beginning of the match.  As if that were not enough, two hours later, when Tim Blenkiron ended the event with an amazing overhead that bounced over the fence, an absolute downpour began.  For the event organizers who are also cancer survivors and caregivers, we simply stood on the court and enjoyed being drenched. We all had exactly the same thought at exactly the same time – this was more than coincidence – and we smiled at each other.  Danny cracked many forehand winners while on the Men's Tennis Team at UNLV and has shared his love of the game with all at the Spanish Trail Country Club since the 1980's.

We thank her and Charlie McCarthy every day for being a founding force of the group and for expanding its reach to elite events around the world.

  •   16efec8 Kristen McVitty rules competitive beach tennis in Nantucket.  Her sandy championship trophies result, in part, from a wise doubles partner selection – Las Vegas partners make solid line calls in match point situations ... but that is another story.  Kristen has been an important part of our cancer research efforts since 2009 and she travels the country to support the fundraising efforts – Nantucket, Las Vegas, Atlanta.  While Kristen is now a senior strategy analyst at Novelis, most may not know that Kristen was No. 1 in the nation when she became part of the University of Virginia's women's tennis team.  We enjoy Kristen's heart and spirit at every event.

  • lydia Lydia Owen  searches the world for the next "perfect" location for a Cancer Research Racquet event.  After a few weeks of "due diligence" in Antigua, Lydia realized that "sailing" was missing from the Cancer Research Racquet event calendar.  That is no longer the case.  Lydia and her team crafted a Yacht, Champagne & Tennis weekend at the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, Rhode Island.  Lydia's passion for the cause is evident at all of our events and her joy for life is contagious.  We are so glad that she is part of so many of our events.

  • melissa Melissa Pine  rocks !!  We could, and perhaps, we should stop there – but no.  So why does Melissa rock??  Excellent question.  Melissa rocks for several reasons.  First, Melissa creates the amazing WTA Red-Carpet, Pre-Wimbledon, Players Party at the Kensington Roof Top Gardens – but there is more.  She organizes the WTA Year-End Championships in Singapore – seriously!!  And as if this cake needed any more icing, she wobbles perfectly when executing the body-serve, I-Formation play against baffled and confused opponents!!  From Day One, Melissa has been a special friend of Cancer Research Racquet and we simply say "Thank you".  Ok, we will also deliver to her perfectly-chilled Champagne.

  • carmen Carmen Pop  changed Cancer Research Racquet forever.  Carmen believed that people with similar passions could collectively make a difference even if they lived in different cities and different countries.  When we met Carmen several years ago in Paris (we love stories that begin in Paris), Carmen had only a short time before her next business meeting.  We chatted for a few minutes and then Carmen broke away for a moment.  When she returned, her business meeting had been rescheduled.  Later, she cleared her day.  And then she cleared her week.  Over the next six days in Paris and London, we charted an adventure – this adventure, which still seems like a dream world to us all.  Her company, Linkedin, connects our group to the world.  Many of you know the power of Linkedin connections first hand.  We are grateful for Carmen and for everything that she, her team and Linkedin do for Cancer Research Racquet.

  • 2984580 Sandy Yanko 's long-time career in healthcare with HCA gives her a national perspective on the critical role that access to quality care plays in the diagnosis, treatment and recovery from cancer.  Sandy has been a part of Cancer Research Racquet from its inception and is a strong supporter of all our events in the US, UK, and EU.  Sandy holds a special place in the hearts of all the organizers.  When she is on the tennis court, beware of her flat forehand up the line on the service return – if you are not prepared, this shot will wake you up and may leave a bruise.
